Two weeks has passed since your first birthday and I think I’m in shock. How funny time passes in lockdown.
But despite the situation we had a wonderful day and most importantly, he did.
We had a moon / space theme party at home complete with balloon arch , a sweet treat buffet and the cutest decorations.
I adore making our balloon arches for every occasion and fell in love with a great kit from amazon that had tons of what we needed. I also added some extra balloons i purchased on ebay just to fill it out and make sure it was long enough.
Our sweet treat buffet included custom biscuits ( recipe ) , cake sickles , homemade donuts ( tutorial to follow ) , lollies , cake pops and of course a cake.
I adore making the childrens birthday cakes myself and seeing the improvement everytime. It’s certainly become a tradition.
His toppers and name were from a great instagram company Burnt Island Creations. Sprinkles are from Iced Gem.
The only thing i love more than throwing a party is wrapping presents. Wether its Christmas or a birthday something about a beautifully wrapped gift just adds to the magic. Keeping on theme I used this stunning house Doctor wrapping paper and beautiful gift tags custom made by Willow and Griff.
He was totally spoilt for his first birthday and got the best gifts we could of imangined.
My personal favorites ( and his too ) were his My1st Years car , Kids concept Drum , Senger Naturwelt teddy ( now called Frankie Bear ) and his adorable new shoes. If you follow us on instagram you’ll of seen lots of these already with lots more to come. As i mentioned in Our gift guide i just love toys that will last long beyond the one year stage.
As a belated gift we also received the BEST balance bike . I adore the Banwood brand and this navy is just amazing. Liberty started riding a bike long before she was 2 so we wanted to make sure we had something ready so were not making big toy purchases outside of occasions. I also fine one can be a hard age to buy for without over duplicating so I think it’s great to prep for future wants and needs too.
We had a day full of giggles , outfit changes from cake and rolling around with toys.
Which is pretty much everyones first birthday dreams. It may not of been the big party we planned or surrounded by the family and friends we wanted to be , but it was perfect and special to us and thats all that matters .
